27-11-2016I have recently upgraded my Taig manual mill to CNC. I noticed that on Taigs web site the CNC mills have this newer looking motor whereas I still have my older Franklin 1/5Hp motor that originally came with the mill some 7 years ago. My question is, how necessary is it or to what advantage is there in upgrading the motor now that I am doing CNC milling and some engraving?

11-07-2017Considering adding Taig mill to my atlas 618 and old atlas drill press. For Taig owners, does the lack of quill feed drive you mad? How do you work aground this? Maybe just spot drill for position on the Taig and finish drilling on a drill press? The alternative would be to get a little machine shop 3990 or similar that has lever-fed quill. Thanks!

04-05-2020Accessories for the Taig Mill. One problem? that the mill has is that very few standard accessories will fit a 1/4 t-slot. I find making things fun, so to me this is just a challenge. Items that you can find, but are expensive, are studs. These run over a buck a whack! Other things like spherical washers are also ungodly expensive.
